Instructional Unit Using Storyline

(Developed Winter 2020)

Currently used by New Walk Church

Context: This course was originally a face-to-face course offered quarterly.  It is a year-long curriculum where each class was presented quarterly and learners were to attend each sequentially.  Many were unable to participate due to work and other conflicts, so this online version was created using the ADDIE framework to address this need. There are assessment questions throughout and a summative assessment at the end. Technologies used include Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, Powtoon, Camtasia, and Google Suite.

Conditions:  This project was created from using the face-to-face curriculum, filming facilitators.  

Scope:  The project was followed through to completion and is currently being used.

 

Role:  My role in this project was that of instructional designer and project manager.

Instructional Sample Using Storyline and Piktochart

(Developed Winter 2020)

Context:  This is a sample project demonstrating 2 different delivery modalities--Stoyline 360 and an Infographic created with Piktochart. The tinstruction was given to me as an instructional designer and I was tasked with creating a method for students to learn the concepts.  I shared 2 different modalities.

 

Conditions:  This project was created using content that was assigned to me.  

 

Scope: This is an instructional sample and is not in use.

Role: I was the sole instructional designer for this project.

Context:  This instruction was developed for a class project using Articulate Presenter that includes an assessment piece.  There was a requirement of using a real-world need for instruction.

 

Conditions:  As an advisor to students participating in this program, I served as the SME using knowledge and materials that are in my workplace.  All graphics (with the exception of logos) were created by me.

 

Scope:  This instruction is available to Baccalaureate instructors at The University of Tampa with the purpose of spreading awareness of the program.

 

Role: I was the sole author and designer for this piece of instruction.

 

Instruction Using

Storyline 360

(Developed Summer 2018)

Currently used by the UT Office of International Programs 

Context:  This instruction was developed for a class project using Storyline 360 that includes an assessment piece.  There was a requirement of using a real-world need for instruction.

 

Conditions:  I had access to SMEs for this project--the advisors who have created the face-to-face version of this instruction.  I had 2 weeks to create this during an intensive summer class.  The initial version was only the first half.  During my internship within this department, I was able to complete the entire piece of instruction.

 

Scope:  This instruction was based on the face-to-face PowerPoint presentation that was already created. The graphics used are all open source.  This instruction is available to the 500+  students who are preparing to study abroad at The University of Tampa.

 

Role: I was the sole author and designer for this piece of instruction.

Instruction Using Audacity

(Developed Summer 2018)

Context:  This instruction was developed for a class project using Audacity audio editing software.  The purpose was to learn and become adept with the audio editing tools offered in this software.

 

Conditions: This instruction was based on personal experience with the goal of being entertaining.

 

Scope:  As an exercise in audio editing, this was not delivered to a particular audience. It is currently stored on my Youtube channel for anyone to view.

 

Role:  I was the sole author and designer for this piece of instruction.

Collaboration Instruction Using Google Sites

(Developed Summer 2018)

Currently used by the UT IDT Program

Context:  This instrction was created for a class on Online Collaboration. The goal was to create an online collaborative space for students in UT's IDT program.

 

Conditions: This particular project was a need that UT's IDT Program was seeking to have completed.  Using open-source materials, this repository is open for others to modify, update, and change as necessary.

Scope: Initially created as a prototype, the current version is now available to all students in the IDT program as a resource for samples of work and best practices for Instructional Design.

 

Role:  As a co-author in the project with Brittan Spence and  Mercury Thomas-Ha, each section was assigned to each designer and then the team collaborated at the end to ensure a cohesive look and design.

Discussion Leader Instruction Using Articulate Storyline

(Developed Fall 2018)

Context:  This was for a class assignment where we had to present course content during the online portion of our hybrid  course.  

 

Conditions:  The material shared was based on our textbook and I was not given any background information.  All activities and graphics included are open source. 

 

Scope:  This project was developed from the beginning to the end by me as a creative way to communicate material from a chapter from our textbook.  The audience for this course was 10 graduate students.  

 

Role:  I was the sole author and designer for this piece of instruction.

Assessment Using Articulate Quizmaker

(Developed Fall 2018)

Currently used by the UT IDT Program

Context:  As part of a class research project, I was tasked with creating an assessment for Accessibility and WCAGG 2.0 requirements using Quizmaker.  The use of multiple question types was required. 

 

Conditions:  As a part of a research team on the subject of accessibility, we did the research to understand the topic.  Based on our research, I created the assessment.

 

Scope:  This was initially done solely for a class project, but was approached by my professor to make some minor tweaks so that she could use it for an introductory course.  This final product was delivered for use in all of UT's EME 601 courses.

Role:  I was the sole author and designer for this piece of instruction.
